Caroline Walshaw (soprano) combines her sole career with a busy teaching schedule for Kent Music School and at various independent schools in West Kent as well as being vocal tutor to the Kent County Youth Choirs. She sings frequently in oratorios thoughout the south-east and also gives frequent recitals with her husband, Richard, accompanied by pianist Caroline Veall.
Katherine Manley (soprano) is currently in her first year at the Benjamin Britten International Opera School at the Royal College of Music, studying with Lillian Watson. As a soloist, she has worked with The London Mozart Players, The London Pro Arte Orchestra and the Philharmonia Orchestra. Concert appearances include Haydn's Creation, under the direction of Stephen Cleobury at the Royal Albert Hall, Mozart's Requiem and performances in Britten's Les Illuminations.
Sophie Mansell (contralto) studied at the Guildhall School of Music where she worked with Margaret Lensky, and Laura Sarti. Her career has taken her all over the UK, to Denmark, Israel, the USA and France where she is a regular soloist with the Choeurs et Ensemble Robert Grimaud. She has sung in most of the major choral works and is much in demand on the concert platform where she regularly performs with her accompanist, Elizabeth Ross, who is the choral society's accompanist.
Andrew Fowler-Watt (tenor) was a Choral Scholar at St John's College,Cambridge. He has divided his time between singing professionally and teaching and recently moved to Benenden School where he is a Housemaster. He has sung in many of the world's great cathedrals and concert halls, from Notre Dame and Seville Cathedral to Carnegie Hall and the Sydney Opera House. He is making a return visit to Cranbrook Choral with whom he sang last December.
Nigel Williams (bass) has also sung previously with Cranbrook Choral, most recently in Belshazzar's Feast. He studied at the Dublin College of Music and at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He has appeared regularly in opera and oratorio throughout the UK and Europe and has made several commercial recordings. He has sung most of the standard bass baritone oratorio repertoire, including many of the Bach cantatas and all the Passions.
